COMPARING OM-500 WITH SHURE'S SM58!
We ran a series of tests and found both the OM-500 and Shure's SM58 to be IDENTICAL.
The colour of the OM-500 is just a shade lighter. They both weigh and the handling feels really similar. As you can see below the components are almost consistent throughout.
One thing that's interesting is when removing the grill the coil assembly sits farther in the grill than the 58. In effect there is a little volume boost due to the proximity on the capsule. Both microphones sounded the same running side by side.
